Dear Colleagues,

 On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I cordially invites you to the 5th International Symposium on Pharmaceutical Chemistry (ISPC-5), organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hacettepe University, to be held in İstanbul on September 5-7, 2007.

The ISPC is a scientific event with attractive multidisciplinary scope and worldwide attendance from both academia and industry that has been organized in different cities of Turkey since 1997. This coming event will mainly be on drug discovery topics such as the new approaches on drug design, combinatorial chemistry, drug metabolism, medicinal chemistry with integration of current technologies including chemogenomics and biotechnology, validation and new techniques in pharmaceutical analysis. Along with the scientific part of the program, there will also be an exhibition of pharmaceutical companies and laboratory equipments.

Besides the scientific aspects of the program you will have an opportunity to explore one of the most glorious cities in the world, İstanbul. It embraces two continents with one arm reaching out to Asia and the other to Europe. Through the city’s heart, the Bosphorus, course the waters of the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara and the Golden Horn. The former capital of three successive empires, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, İstanbul today honors and preserves the legacy of its past while looking forward to a modern future. It is İstanbul’s endless variety that fascinates its visitors. The museums, churches, palaces, grand mosques, bazaars and sights of natural beauty seem innumerable. The different cultures and history of this unique city of contrasts will give additional pleasure to you.

Above all, we hope that ISPC-5 will prove an opportunity for attendees to meet each other, to build friendship, and contribute to lively discussions in the field of medicinal chemistry.
